MARBLEHEAD - Alice Natalie (Cole) Heaphy, 93, of Marblehead, known to most as Meme, passed on January 2, 2013, with family by her side.

A Marblehead native, Alice grew up on Jersey Street and graduated from Marblehead High School. A true love story, she was married to James P Heaphy in 1944 at the Our Lady Star of the Sea (with the lights turned off during the war). They then laid a foundation in Marblehead to build their home and family. Alice lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment with her family and friends. She had many traveling adventures and especially loved Siesta Key, FL and Santa Barbara, CA. She celebrated life right up to her 93rd birthday party on Christmas Eve with her entire family. Alice was known by her family and many friends to have wonderful advice and quirky phrases, always making people feel better after talking with her.

Loved by all who met her, but especially her soul-mate of 65 years, the late James Heaphy, her three children Kathleen (and Vincent) Monaco, Pamela(and the late Jon) Willard, and the late Richard Heaphy, her daughter in law Sharon Alice Heaphy Heaphy and her son-in-law the late Edwin Lojko, her 6 grandchildren Erin (and Ed Cavazos), Tara (and Steve Risoldi), Polly (and Mike Mabry), Alyssa (and Kevin Prince), Brian Heaphy and Danny Heaphy, and her 7 great-grandchildren Destin, Alec, Callie, Mia, Cole, Max, and Madeline. Mom, Meme, you are our Guardian Angel. You always lifted us to our feet when our wings had trouble remembering how to fly. A private service was held with her family. In lieu of flowers, Alice would want you to love your family to the fullest.

Arrangements by the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, Marblehead. Please visit the online guestbook at www.eustisandcornellfuneralhome.com
