Mrs. Mollie Faye Strickland, 84, died Wednesday (May 6, 2015) at Northside Hospital Forsyth in Cumming, GA following short illness.
She was born in Millwood and lived most of her life in Waycross. She was also a former employee of National Life and Accident Insurance Company and a member of First Baptist Church in Waycross.
Mrs. Strickland was a daughter of the late Dessie E. Gillis and Annie Mae Harrell Gillis. She was married to the late Troy E. "Zeke" Strickland and preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters; a grandson, Conway Strickland; and a granddaughter, Kelly Lee.
She is survived by her son of Cumming; a daughter of Waycross; a step-son and a step-daughter of Waycross; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister in Douglas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday (May 9, 2015) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Saturday afternoon at the funeral home from 1 until 3 o'clock.
