Jerry Crum age 76 of Newport went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 6, 2015 at his home.

He was a veteran having served in the United States Army.

He was a faithful member of Denton Baptist Church. He was also a member of the True Way Quartet for 27 years. It was his heart’s desire to spread God’s word through singing and his testimony.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Zelma Crum; son, Jason Crum; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Georgia Crum; father and mother-in-law, Billy and Birdie Evans.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Crum; daughter and son-in-law, Pam (Tyler) Roberts; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy (Tina) Crum; grandchildren, Jake and Jessica Webb and Madison Crum; brothers, Eddie (Phyllis) Crum and David (Julie) Crum; sister, Janella (Casey) Whaley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Mary Chambers; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held 8 pm Friday May 8, 2015 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephan Swann and Rev. James Suggs officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 am Saturday in Union Cemetery with Rev. Ron Carroll officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday at the funeral home prior to the services.

The family would like to give a special “thanks” to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, Rev. Ron Carroll, Lisa Toliver, Denise Ball, Charlie Grooms, and Julie Crum for the love and care they showed to Jerry during his sickness.
