Mr. Luther Keitt, 84, of Henderson, passed away May 6, 2015, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015, at First Baptist Church with Dr. David Higgs officiating under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the service in the Family Life Center at the church.
Luther was born in Hubbard, Texas, to the late Aylmer and Pauline Keitt. He graduated from The University of Texas in 1950 and began his banking career at First State Bank of Hubbard. He moved from Hubbard in 1965 to become President of Citizens National Bank in Henderson and served there until he retired in 1992. Thereafter, he continued serving as an individual consultant until the end of 2001. He had the honor of serving on the boards of the Texas Bankers Association and American Bankers Association. He served in the Lions Club in Henderson from 1965 until 2010. He was also a member of First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Keitt, of Henderson; daughters, Beth Brubaker and husband, Jim, of Spring, and Susan Gorney and husband, Mike, of Nashville, TN, and Melanie Morris and husband, Paul, of Henderson; son, Brad Keitt and wife, Paige, of Henderson; grandchildren, Christian Patterson and husband, Chase, of Kilgore, Collyn Keitt, Madeline Morris, and Adam Morris, of Henderson, and Anna Gorney and Rush Gorney, of Nashville, TN; sister, Camille Keitt and longtime friend of the family, Dr. Maria-Luisa Urdaneta of Austin; along with many other loving friends and family.
