Sarah L. Carpenter, 61, of Danville died at 2:03 p.m. Monday (May 4, 2015) at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.

She was born on Aug. 10, 1953 in Danville, the daughter of Lenard and Dorothy (Drake) Cook. She was married to Joseph “Joe” Carpenter on June 6, 1986 in Danville. He survives..

She is also survived by her children, Joe (Penney) Carpenter, Mark (Wendy) Carpenter, Corrina (Michael “Moose”) Hardin, Cody (Laura Trautman) Carpenter, Johnna Hochstetler, Kristy Carpenter and Jamie Williams; 31 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, George Cook; her sisters, Goldie Emery, Lisa (Arvil) Cox and Valerie Richards and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, David Cook and Billy Richards.

Sarah worked in food prep at Ponderosa, Big Boy and later at Provena USMC. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. She and her husband were silent owners and key players in starting up the Danville Chargers organization.
