Mary Lynne Gano, 92, passed away at 9:30 pm on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Reflections at Wellington in Kokomo. She was born on September 2, 1922 in Crothersville, IN to John L. and Izetta Blanche (Salmon) Silence. On May 20, 1944 Mary married Kenneth Gano and he passed away on June 23, 1985.

Mary was a 1940 graduate of Prairie Township High School in Tipton County and attended Kokomo Business College. She was a bookkeeper for Allanice Amusement Corp, theaters, Sipes, Indiana Ices and the First McDonald’s north and south Drive Inns. She was a member of the Community Christian Church in Frankfort.

Survivors include her brother Joseph (Jane) Silence of Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews and Great nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents John and Izetta Silence; husband Kenneth Gano; two brothers Hollis and Ralph Silence; two sisters Maxine Huff and Alice Dunham.

Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Stout & Son Funeral Home 200 E. Main St. Russiaville with Pastor Steve Sherwood officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer association or to the American Cancer Society.
