Floyd proudly served in the United States Army with the Horse Calvary during WWII. He transferred to Infantry and was in the first troop to served as guard at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Japan. Floyd was involved in several battles during WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star.
He was employed with Strauss' in upholstery, Nickels Bakery where he did home delivery and was the last home deliverer in the area, and also Allen's Drug Town as a delivery man.
He enjoyed watching professional wrestling and working in the yard. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth A. Baker on May 21, 2014; son, Floyd L. "Butch" Baker; his brothers, Alfred M. Baker and Charles Baker; and his sister, Ruby Hammerton.
He leaves his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and William Reader of Boardman; his grandchildren, Brandi J. and Daniel C. Baker; his great granddaughter, Marlee M. Goodin and his sister, Lola Ackworth.
Burial will be in Lake Park Cemetery.
