The couple moved to Los Angeles, California where they settled and had three daughters: Geraldine Ruth (Gilmore) in 1916, Maryannetta (Cooke) in 1921 and Betty Jane (Page) in 1924.
Ralph worked as an Office Manager for Colyear Motor Company and Ruth was a homemaker. Ruth loved entertaining and her house was always full of family and friends.She enjoyed decorating, creating lovely homes and filling them with fresh flowers. Once her daughters were grown, Ruth worked as a saleslady for several department stores along Wilshire Boulevard and in downtown Los Angeles. She had a fun loving, gregarious nature and was always beautifully dressed. She later became a successful real estate agent and sold lots for a development in Cambria, California.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents,her brothers John Elmer Janes, Charles Clarence Janes, her sisters Myrtle Mae (Kellum), Lucy (McDonald), Estelle "Blanche" (Boye, Lent, Asbury), Nina C. ( Purdy, Eades), Sadie ( Scott) and her husband of 71 years Ralph. She was survived by her daughters Geraldine, Maryannetta and Betty, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
