TABIONA, Duchesne County -- Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Tabiona Ward Chapel for Orpha Ellis Wagstaff Michie, 67, of Tabiona, who died in a Payson hospital Friday afternoon of cancer. She was born Nov. 15, 1899, in Charleston, Wasatch County, the daughter of Alma W. and Ester Hunsaker Wagstaff. She was married to Marvin Robert Michie, Oct. 17, 1918. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She attended school in Charleston, Park City and Roosevelt. Mrs. Michie was an active member of the LDS Church, having served as president of the Primary and the YWMIA, as counselor in the Relief Society, visiting teacher supervisor and visiting teacher, and teacher of the theology class in Relief Society.
She will long be remembered by those who knew her for the beautiful handiwork, especially crocheting and quilting. She had won many ribbons in the State Fair.
Survivors include her husband; three sons and three daughters, Marvin Trevor Michie, Hastings, Ill.; Lyle Wagstaff Michie, Pittsburg, Calif.; Robert Alma Michie, Payette, Ida.; Mrs. Paul (Cuba) Lofgreen, Spanish Fork; Mrs Newell (Amber) Carter, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Dee (Enid) Christensen of Lander, Wyo.; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandson; two brothers, Dermont Wagstaff of Orem and Claude Wagstaff of Tabiona.
Friends may call at the Olpin Mortuary in Heber City, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the place of services Tuesday one hour prior. Burial will be in the Tabiona Cemetery.
