James A. Tanner - Funeral services for A-1C James A. Tanner, 21, of the Air Force, formerly of 4382 Summerhill Drive, who died in a Montgomery, Ala., hospital Wednesday, [April 14] will be held at 4 p.m. today in Memorial Chapel. The Rev. L. Clyde Harvard will officiate. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Merritt Causey, Merritt Every, R. E. McWhirk, Raymond Hughes, Lewis Turner and Harry Welch.

Honorary pallbearers will be C. B. Garrafa, Carl Hayes, Jr., John E. Stevens, H. Prentice Smith, Dan Moody, J. G. Pattishall, Joel E. Cummings, Wendell H. Clark, Howard Laney and Clyde Sutton.

Tanner was the son of Early Benton Tanner and Mrs. Sara Walden Tanner. He was a graduate of Lanier Senior High School. He was a former newspaperboy for The Macon Telegraph and News.

He entered the Air Force in October of 1961 and had been stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, Turner Air Force Base and Guam Air Force Base.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Sara Tanner of Macon; father, Early Benton Tanner of Toomsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Randolph Driggers of Atlanta, Mrs. Floyd Brown, Jr. and Miss Jeanette Tanner, both of Macon.
