Born in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late Stephen and Anna Hudak Bednar.
He was a physician and served as an Army medic during the Vietnam War.
He graduated from Peddie School High School, Hightstown, N.J., and received his bachelor's degree from Princeton University and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in internal and emergency medicine and family practice.
Surviving are a sister, Theresa Bednar, Louisville, Ky.; a cousin, Veronica Shafransky; and Rita Pecika and their families, Shenandoah.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Roman Catholic Church, 224 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah, by Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian. Interment was in St. Stephen Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc. was entrusted with the arrangements.
