Lester Owen Tindle, 88, of Hawesville passed away Wednesday April 29, 2015 at the home of a son and daughter-in-law surrounded by his family. Lester was born in Cloverport, KY on January 19, 1927 to the late Owen and Ella Sanders Tindle. He was of the Presbyterian faith, an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict, past Hancock County Sorghum king and a retired farmer. He loved making sorghum, raising tobacco and playing and listening to bluegrass music. Lester was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Alice, two sons Lester Allan Tindle and Randall Wayne Tindle, an infant daughter Marcia Tindle, a son-in-law Wayne Knight, a brother Edward Tindle and a sister Ruby Harold.

Survivors include a daughter Donna Knight of Hawesville, three sons David (Jeannie) Tindle, Michael Tindle and Scott Tindle all of Hawesville; a brother Ray (Sue) Tindle; thirteen grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services are at 11:00 am Saturday May 2, 2015 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clark-Young Cemetery.
