James Oard, 84, of 1023 Howard Rd., Beaverton, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 1991, in the MidMichgian Regional Medical Center, Gladwin, after a long illness. Born in Lima, Ohio, Aug. 27, 1907, he had spent most of his life in Gladwin County. Mr. Oard was an operator for Dow Chemical Co. and retired in 1972. He also farmed. Mr. Oard and the former Mary Lehman were married June 22, 1929, in Flint. She preceded him in death July 13, 1990.

Surviving are 2 sons, Wilbur of Columbus, Ohio and Brad of Beaverton; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Clapp of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Harold, July 15, 1985.

Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. Pastor Clarence Moore will officiate and burial will be in the Arbutus Cemetery, Beaverton.
