Helen was born the daughter of Joe and Mary Ellen (Adcox) McDonald on March 7, 1921, in Sumner, Missouri. She was a 1938 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She was united in marriage to Keith Jackson on August 2, 1939, in Waynesville, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1980. Helen worked as a House Parent in a Training School for many years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, where she served as a Charter Member and the Young At Heart Club. Church was a very big part of Helen’s life. She was also a volunteer for R.S.V.P. for 15 years and the Chillicothe Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25.
Survivors include one daughter, Diana Jackson of Overland Park, Kansas; four grandchildren, Teresa Dennis and husband Don of Meadville, Missouri, David Gillilan and wife Linda of Chula, Missouri, Amy Corzette and husband Heath of Chillicothe, Missouri, Bradley Jackson of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; nine great grandchildren, Kristy Patrick and husband Nate of Kansas City, Missouri, Keith Dennis and wife Andrea of Meadville, Missouri, Jordan Gillilan of Chillicothe, Missouri, Ariel Gardner and husband Chad of Mendon, Missouri, Jerry Jackson and Morgan Jackson of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Trevor, Kennedy and Hudson Corzette all of Chillicothe, Missouri; and eight great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; twin children, Jerry Lee Jackson and Jenny Lynn Shiflett; and one sister, Joan Peterie.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, May 4, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, May 4, 2015, one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, May 3, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
