GARY ADKINS May 30, 1943 - April 21, 2015. Gary D. Adkins, 71, a longtime resident of Clear Lake, passed away April 21, 2015.

Gary was born on May 30, 1943 in Sedro-Woolley to Clyde and Verna Adkins.

He was united in marriage to Edith Wilson on April 23, 1961.

Gary drove log truck for Hamilton Brothers and then went to work for the Dunlap Towing Log Yard in La Conner. Gary is a retired Clear Lake Volunteer Firefighter of 26 years. When anyone needed help he would always be there for them – day or night; and he was loved by many.

Gary is survived by his two sons, Dennis Adkins of Sedro-Woolley and Richard "Pete" Adkins (Jeanna) of Clear Lake; his daughter, DeAnn Mills (Dan) of Sedro-Woolley; two brothers, Robert Adkins (Paulet) of Wasilla, AK and Wayne Adkins (Joyce) of Boise, ID and one sister, Lois Byrum (Ted) of Beaver, OK. He also is survived by eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two god-granddaughters, and they all meant everything to him. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith, his parents, one brother and two sisters.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 1:00 pm. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers donation be made to the Clear Lake Volunteer Fire Department or United General Peace Health Oncology Department.
