R. B. Andrews Died Last Sunday Morning
R. B. Andrews, age 83 years, prominent Chambers County citizen and Confederate veteran, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. T. Mangham, last Sunday morning at nine o'clock after an illness of more than one year during which he was confined to his room for four months.
The deceased was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church, and during his fifty or more years of residence in that community he had been active in the affairs of his church. Enlisting in the Confederate army at the outbreak of the War Between the States he served with distinction as an enlisted man in a Georgia company. After the close of the war he moved to Chambers County and the Antioch community where he lived at the time of his death. He had made his home with Mrs. J. T. Mangham since the death of his wife some three years ago.
Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery on Monday, February 13th, at 11 o'clock, with Rev. Spiegal, of Lanett, and Rev. Scott, pastor of Mt. Pleasant, officiating.
He is survived by the following children: J. N. Andrews, Hogansville, Ga., T. J. Andrews, Langdale, Ala.; O. O. Andrews, Camp Hill, Ala.; Mrs. J. T. Mangham, LaFayette, Ala.; Mrs. S. W. Jones, LaFayette, and Mrs. W. J. Tucker, Riverview, Ala.
