Tonnya J. Balagna (nee Tines) 66, of Venice, FL, formerly of Detroit, MI, passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 17, 1948, to Buford and Martha Pepper Tines.
She graduated from East Detroit High School class of 1966. After 30 years of service she retired from General Motors in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Venice, Florida.
She is survived by James, her loving husband of 44 years. Children: Jeff (Diane) of St. Charles, IL and David (Sherry) of Troy, Michigan, 6 precious grandchildren. Brothers, Charles (Janet), Don (Virginia), Allen (Karen) and sister Yvonne (Tim). Also remembered by her many loving nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her for her zest and love of life.
Her family will receive friends at Farley Funeral home in Venice, Florida from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday, May 4, 2015. Funeral services will be at 10:00am, Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Venice under the direction of Pastor Tom Hodge. A brief reception will follow the service at the church. Entombment will take place in the mausoleum at Venice Memorial Gardens.
