She lived at the O.K. Farm until it was destroyed by the tornadoes of June 3, 1980. O.K. Farm was the original Fonner homestead. It was located on the South Locust strip from the Driesbach's corner to Stolley Park Road. The east part of the property became the current Fonner Park complex.
Following her husband's death, she worked with Fonner Park and Stuhr Museum to establish and build the Fonner Rotunda at the current Stuhr Museum. Fonner Rotunda is open to the public. It is the home of the Fonner collection of artifacts on early Hall County life. She was elected to the Fonner Park board of directors in 1979. She was the first woman to serve on the board and had been an active supporter of the board of directors for 40 years. She was named the YWCA Woman of Distinction in 1995. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church for 78 years.
