Bernice was born in Campbell Hill, Illinois on February 23, 1926, the daughter of Adolph C. Hornbostel and Elda Westerman. She married Eldred Gremmels on September 17, 1944 at West Point, Illinois. Bernice was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bremen.
Bernice is survived by her husband, Eldred Gremmels of Chester; a nephew, with thom she resided, Randy (Kathy) Troue of Percy; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; one brother, Adolph Hornbostel, Jr. of Campbell Hill; and two sisters, Alice Nelson of Percy and Lardean Welge of Chester.
Bernice was preceded in death in by her parents.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bremen, with Rev. Laura K. Kamprath officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville.
