At age 8, her family moved to Covington, Kenton Co., KY, where she graduated from Covington Holmes High School. She was a graduate of Georgetown College and Eastern Kentucky University. Carol served as the first Public Information Officer for the newly formed Lincoln County Disaster & Emergency Services, and was a past member of the Waynesburg Rescue Squad. She taught at Waynesburg Elementary School from 1977 until retirement in 1994. Carol was an active member of the Frankfort Senior Activity Center where she did a lot of volunteer work and served on the Advisory Council. Carol loved working with people with special needs and enjoyed traveling, camping, and hiking. She will always be remembered for her creativity.
Surviving are her husband: Jim Badgett; her daughters: Sherri Jacobs Turner and her husband, Johnny Turner and Sandy Jacobs Hendrickson and her husband, Junior Hendrickson; her son, Tyler Badgett and Kayla McIntosh; her step-son: Lynn Badgett and Marisa; her grandsons: Greg Hendrickson, Adam Hendrickson, and Kevin Hendrickson; her step-grandsons: Nathaniel Badgett, Nicholas Turner, Robert Turner, and Jordan Turner; her step-granddaughters: Isabel Badgett and Hillary Turner; her great-granddaughter: Bevyn Hendrickson; her step-great granddaughter: Aaliyah Turner; her step-great grandson: John Michael Turner; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins to mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Katherine Godfrey Ruprecht.
