Allen G. Detter, 75, of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the CHP Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Center, Defiance, OH.
He was born on June 11, 1938 to Alexander and Ethel (Whipple) Detter in Defiance, OH. On September 21, 1958 he married Judy E. Corron, who survives.
Allen worked at All-Star Products in Defiance, and as a Pattern Maker for GM, retiring in 1998. He was a member of St John Lutheran Church, VFW Post 3360, Prop Floppers Radio Controlled Airplane Club, enjoyed playing golf and woodcarving.
Allen is survived by his loving spouse Judy E. Detter of Defiance, OH, 3 sons, Daniel (Susan) Detter of Defiance, OH, Mark (Michelle) Detter of Defiance, OH, and Scott (Atsuko) Detter of Defiance, OH, 7 grandchildren, 1 Great grandchild, 2 brothers, Gary Detter of Berlin Center, OH, and Neal Detter of Defiance, OH, sister, Patricia Stricker of Swansboro, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 15, 2013, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio, and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 11:00 am in St John Lutheran Church, Defiance, Ohio, with Rev Donald L. Luhring,, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to the St John Lutheran Church, or Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Center.
