Surviving are his wife; sisters, Mary Bacon, Marjorie Mote and Elevena Smalley and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
Mr. Alexander was a retired steam fitter and welder. He was a member of the Springfield Local 137, its pension board and BPOE 194.
He had worked at Lincoln Develpoment Center, retiring in 1974.
