Shirley Sullivan
Shirley Marie Sullivan, 88, formerly of Norwich, died peacefully at her home in Rochester on Sunday, April 16, 2017 surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Shirley was born in Johnson City on October 8, 1928, to Willard and Grace (Zimmerman) Conklin. Shirley spent her youth in Johnson City, South New Berlin, and Windham, NY.

She was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) Sullivan, sister Betty Haines, of Virginia Beach, brother Bill Conklin, of Binghamton, and precious first grandchild Elizabeth Marie Cangelosi.

Shirley is survived by her eight children and several grandchildren including John Sullivan, of Rochester, Randy Sullivan, and his son, Wyatt, of Plympton, MA, Jolane Sullivan, of Valdosta, GA, Jacquelyn Kelly, and her husband, Don, of Norwich, Patrick Sullivan, his wife, Ally, and their two sons, Nolan and Nathan, of Rochester and their daughter, Heather Hew, of North Tustin, CA, Michael Sullivan, of Rochester, Mary Cangelosi, her husband, Anthony, and their two children, Thomas and Carly, of Valdosta, GA, and Margaret Pepe, her husband, Edward, and their two children, Megan and Michael, of Cumming, GA.

While raising her children, Shirley trained to be a nursing assistant and worked at Chenango Memorial Hospital for many years. She retired and started her own business "Somewhere In Time" to pursue her passion of collecting and reselling antiques and collectibles. Shirley's greatest passion and love were her eight children and grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Church of St. Paul, Norwich, NY, where Father Ralph A. Bove, pastor, will officiate. Burial will immediately follow the Mass at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Norwich. Friends are invited to call on Thursday at the Wilson Funeral Home, in Norwich, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Because of Shirley’s life-long love of animals, her children are donating money to the Chenango County SPCA. The family invites others to contribute to the Chenango County SPCA in Shirley’s memory if they wish.
