Mr. McAnulty, following his graduation from high school, had graduated from the Merchant Marines School in New London, Conn. He served in the Merchant Marines through out World War II as a First Mate mostly aboard oil freighters in both the Atlantic and Pacific. He had been employed as a union carpenter in construction for many years before becoming a self employed dairy farmer in 1957 in which he actively owned and operated the dairy farm until his retirement in 1981. Mr. McAnulty had been a longtime member of the National Pike Steam and Gas Association.
On the day following labor day of 1946 he married Alice Chambers McAnulty who survives.
Deceased in addition to his parents are a daughter, Mildred A. McCreight who died in 1998 and several brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received from 6-8pm Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Thursday and from Noon to 1:00pm the hour of services on Friday March 11, 2005 in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Rt. 40 Beallsville, with Rev. Scott Gallagher officiating. Interment will be in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg, Pa.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to: the Fredericktown Public Library, P.O. Box 625, Fredericktown, Pa. 15333, St. Paul United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 311, Denbo, Pa. 15429, or the charity of ones choice.
