John "Phillip" Bailey age 76 of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at his home with his three loving daughters by his side.
Phil was born on November 18, 1937 in Russiaville, Indiana, the son of George and Katherine (Miner) Bailey. He attended Frankfort High School in Indiana and Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana. Phil honorably served in the US Army, PFC-E3 from 10/2/56 to 9/30/62. He married Barbara Williams on May 2, 1959.

Phil was an automotive business owner and salesman in Indiana, Michigan and Texas. He retired in 2013 in Texas and he and his wife Barbara re-located to Michigan.

Phil's hobbies included any kind of sporting event. He loved NASCAR, the San Antonio Spurs, Golf and U of M Football! He was a member of the Clinton Lodge until 1962 and a member of the Shriner club since 1975.

Phil was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (7/20/14), parents, George and Katherine Bailey, brothers, George Jr. and Bill Bailey, grand-daughter, Brianna Beaudoin, and Nephew, Matthew Bailey.

Phil is survived by his father-in-law, Rev. Frank Williams, daughters, Melanie (Dan) Beaudoin, Patti Bailey, Vicki (David) MacKellar, Grandchildren, Brooke and Bethany Beaudoin, Ryan and Rachel Mackellar and several nieces, nephews and friends.
