GLENDALE, Wis. - Graveside services for Willard G. Thayer, 83, of 223 1/2 W. Mill Road, and a long-time Rockton resident, who died in Good Samaritan Hospital, Milwaukee, on Tuesday, will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Rockton Cemetery with the Rev. Darrell English officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by the Rosman, Uehling, Kinzer funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Talcott Free Library, Rockton.
He was born on Aug. 1, 1898, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Gardner and Esther Wallace Thayer. He married Gladys Olson on Jan. 9, 1954, in St. Petersburg, Fla.
He worked at the Macktown Golf Course for many years and was a Republican committeeman of Winnebago County.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Jack of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Jane (Richard) Gerges of Yardley, Penn.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Gayle (John) Scarvaci of Fox Point, Wis., and Mrs. Averle Hubbard of Milwaukee; and several grandchildren.
