A Former Columbusite Passes Away
At Dothan, Ala.

Mr. J. F. Bartlett, a former resident of this city, died at his home in Dothan Ala., after a short illness of heart trouble. The remains arrived in this city yesterday afternoon at 5:20 o'clock on the S.A.L. train, and the funeral will take place this morning at 10 o'clock.

Mr. Bartlett was very well known in this city, having lived here for about twelve years. In the winter of 1899 he moved to Dothan, where he lived at the time of his death. Mr. Bartlett is survived by his wife, by four daughters, Mrs. Preston, of Sasser, Ga., Mrs. J.R. Rowe, of Columbus, Misses Maude and Susie Bartlett of Dothan, and four sons, Messrs. J. E. Bartlett, Boyd Bartlett, and Cleveland Bartlett, of Dothan and Mr. Frank B. Bartlett, of Girard.

Mr. Bartlett was a Mason, and was also a member of the 2nd Georgia calvary. The remains were accompanied to this city by his wife, his son, Mr. J. E. Bartlett, of Dothan, and is daughters Mrs. Preston of Sasser, and Miss Maude Bartlett of Dothan.

The funeral will take place from the residence of Mr. J.R. Rowe, 716 First avenue this morning at 10 o'clock. the services to be conducted by Rev. H. Bussey. The following gentlemen have been asked to act as pall bearers Messers. H.L. Satter (?), W.T. Claborne , R.J Chambers, W.J Sykes, W.P. (?) and J.(or I.?)C. Reedy.
