Betty Dye, 76, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in Raleigh NC following an extended illness.
The daughter of Ora Lee and Esther Lily Ward, she was born in Parkersburg WV on Aug 15, 1933. During her life she lived in Parkersburg, WV, Richmond England and Sun City Center, FL before settling in Raleigh.

Mrs. Dye was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild. She was also a member of P.E.O. and the Oxford Woman’s Club. In the past she had been an active member of Insurance Women of Parkersburg and Rotary serving as an officer at the chapter and district levels.

She is survived by her children Karen L. Richards wife of David B. Kimmons of Oxford and Lt. Col. Mark A. Richards husband of Cathy S. Richards of Heidelberg, Germany, her grandchildren Aimee L. Charboneau of Woodbridge, VA, Ashleigh A. Kimmons of Front Royal, VA and Zachery A. Richards of Heidelberg, Germany and her great grandchildren Rose M. Charboneau and Aidan M. Charboneau. of Woodbridge VA. Also one brother Robert L. Ward of FL.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Arden E. Richards and her second husband Earl C. Dye Jr., her parents and one sister Patricia W. Randall

The funeral will be held Sat. January 9, 2010 at 1PM at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, Raleigh NC. Rev. Jay James and Rev. E.T. Malone will offer the requiem. The family will receive friends at the home following the funeral.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church Altar Guild or Music Program, Cottey College in Nevada MO or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memphis TN, all of which were dear to her heart.
