Albert Jantzen was born to Ludwig H. Jantzen and Susanna (Ratzlaff) Jantzen. According to the California Mennonite Historical Society, he was the 12th of 17 children. Not all children grew to adulthood. At least 5 died very young.
On August 19, 1929, Albert married Martha Koehn, daughter of Gustav D. Koehn and Elisabeth (Unruh) Koehn.
Albert and Martha moved to Winton in 1942. Their first home in Winton was south of the railroad track near the train depot. They later lived on Eucalyptus before purchasing a house with several acres on Mercedes Avenue. They had 3 children; Ruth Ann Gasaway; James and Timothy.
Albert worked as a carpenter with Tobe Nightengale.
In the 1960s the parents moved to a house on west Olive Avenue in Winton.
