WESSEL - Kenneth Joseph, of Louisville passed away Tuesday April 21, 2015 at his home with his family .by his side. Kenneth was a native of Louisville, a graduate of Fairdale High School, University of Oklahoma Engineering and the University of Kentucky Business Schools, and a U.S. Navy veteran. Kenneth began his engineering career with Thiokol. After leaving Thiokol, he went to DuPont Chemical where he retired after 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Ethel Wessel; and brother, Lea Roy Wessel. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Brenda A. Houtchens Wessel; children, Lisa Wessel, Ed Greenwell (Rosanna), Kimberly Greenwell (Terri), Marci Willis (Mike); grandchildren, Nick & Lexy Willis; sisters, Marleen Nix and Betty McCandless; his beloved dog and pal Cody; and caregiver Hannah Blanchard. His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday April 25, 2015 at Ratterman Funeral Home 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville, KY 40243 with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday April 24, 2015 at the funeral home.
