He was born April 19, 1911, in Diller, Neb., to John and Anna (Bauer) Meyer.
In 1936, Mr. Meyer moved to the Johnstown area and worked for Bob and May Snedden at Welcome Hill Dairy north of Johnstown until he retired. He then took care of May Snedden until her death in 1984.
In 1990, he married Ruth Duncan. They lived north of Johnstown until her death on Nov. 11, 1992.
A farmer, dairyman and truck driver, Mr. Meyer was a 58-year member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. His dog Muffy was his companion.
Survivors are two sisters, Margaret Meyer Duitsman of Beatrice, Neb., and Verna Zeleney of Hebron, Neb.; his caretaker and special friend, Gerri Treat of Johnstown; and many nieces and nephews. His parents and five brothers are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Allnutt Funeral Service Macy Chapel, Greeley. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley. Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. today at the Macy Chapel.
