Laverne Dacus, 77, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed from this life Monday, April 20, 2015 at Jonesboro Health and Rehabilitation where she had been a resident for the past eight years.

She was born January 28, 1938, at Fontaine, AR., to the late Charles and Josie Freeman.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles A. Freeman, Jr. and Jimmy Freeman.

Laverne is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lawrence Dacus; two sons, Bill (Judy) Dacus of Jonesboro and Charles (Allison) Dacus of Roxboro, NC; brothers, Manuel Freeman of Phoenix, AZ, Johnny Freeman of Mountain Home, AR and Stanley Freeman of Jonesboro; sisters, Ozella Rowland, of Paragould and Joyce Hoffman of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Aidan and Mason Dacus of Roxboro, and Brad (Vicky) Whelchel of Jonesboro; and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Emma Whelchel of Jonesboro.

Funeral services were at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home with burial at Rock Hill Cemetery.
