John was the son in law of David Thwing Wheeler. He married David's daughter Lenora Angeline in 1874. He is buried in the family plot on what was the old Wheeler farm, about five miles South of Stockdale. At the top of the grave stone is shown a handshake in front of a Masonic emblem. In addition to the children shown below, family records show that two other daughters, Norah and Sarah, were born about 1879. No other records of them have been found to date.
