Veteran of World War II. Served in the United States Army Air Force as an officer in the Western Flying Train Command. He trained pilots for the glider assault behind enemy lines in Europe. Deployed to the China, Burma, India Theater of Operations with the Flying Tigers where he flew P-38s as a photo-reconnaissance pilot. Preceded in death by his parents, Travis Bailey and Mary Clark Bailey. Extracted from obituary in the San Antonio Express News, March 29, 2005.
