Alvin Robert Meyer, 70, of Jamestown, South Carolina, husband of the late Frances McLawhorn Moore Meyer, died Friday, April 17, 2015.
Mr. Meyer was born December 30, 1944, in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Frederick William Meyer, Jr., and the late Mary Constance Jamison.
He served in the National Guard and was retired as a parts manager with Sealand Shipping. He enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, woodworking, racing, his tractors, and the guitar lessons he had started.
He was survived by a daughter, Constance M. McDaniel of Mount Pleasant, SC; a step-daughter, Cynthia Kaye Eastwood of Wallace, NC; a step-son, Donald Gene Moore of Ayden, NC; grandchildren, James Alvin Moore and Dana Leigh Moore; a brother, Frederick W. Meyer, III, of Careywood, ID; a sister, Constance Shoakes of Hernando, FL.; and a special friend and companion, Debra D. Howey.
He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Youngberg.
Funeral service were 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in the Chapel of J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant. Burial followed in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
