Edna Lela Cole, daughter of John and Emma Bowersox, was born September 4, 1886, in Cloud County, Kansas, and died at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, on October 23, 1980, at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 19 days.
She received her education in Cloud County.
On December 23, 1908, she was united in marriage to Jacob Edwin Cole, and to this union 5 children were born.
They moved to the Belleville community in the spring of 1945.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Belleville, WCTU, Women's Circle, and VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and two sons, Jake and Keith.
She is survived by three daughters, Beulah, Doris and Lila; daughter-in-law, Edna Scott; thirteen grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Chapel on October 25 with the Rev. Larry Dutton officiating. Burial was at the Belleville cemetery.
