Ronald Allen Glasgow I, 76, of Granite City, Ill., born Aug. 19, 1938, in Granite City, Ill., passed away at 3:06 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at his home. Mr. Glasgow retired as a car salesman with Ford-Lincoln-Mercury dealerships throughout the area after many years of dedicated service. He proudly served his country with the United States Army. He was a faithful member of Word of Life Tabernacle in Granite City and enjoyed his days of traveling and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington and Margaret Adelle, nee Smith, Glasgow; a great-granddaughter, Ellie Smith; and two sisters, Brenda Lee Glasgow and Phyllis Allen. Surviving are his beloved wife, Doris, nee Revelle, Glasgow, whom he married on Feb. 2, 1974, in Granite City; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Gene Cope of Granite City; three sons and daughters-in-law, Alex and Lisa Monroe of Salem, Mo., Randy and Lori Monroe of O'Fallon, Mo., and Ron and Trish Glasgow of St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Amy Pagano, Adam Cope, Emily Smith, Hannah Monroe, Madeline Monroe, Luke Monroe, Miranda Monroe and Nick Monroe; four great-grandchildren, Avarey Cope-Bettorf, Emery Pagano, Catheryn Pagano and Aria Johns; a sister-in-law, Gelene Brase of Florissant, Mo.; other extended family and friends.Memorials may be made to Word of Life Tabernacle and may be accepted at the funeral home. www.irwinchapel.comVisitation: In celebration of his life, visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.
