FRESCH – Thomas E., 74, South Fork, died after a courageous battle against cancer April 16, 2015, at Windber Hospice surrounded by loving family. Born June 9, 1940, in South Fork, son of Lemon S. Sr. and Virginia G. (Neff) Fresch. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Lemon S. Jr. and Kenneth G. Fresch. Survived by loving wife of 50 years, Marian L. (McCarty) Fresch, whom he married Nov. 7, 1964; daughters, Laura, wife of Jeff Marsh; and Jennie Spory, both of South Fork; grandchildren, Andrew and Donald Spory and Jamie and Katelyn Marsh; and sisters, Cheryl H. Fresch, Ph.D., and Susan J. Fresch, both of Sidman. Tom was a graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, Class of 1958. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served aboard the USS Robert A. Owens from 1958 to 1962. He retired from the Ebensburg State Center after 28 years of service. Tom was a faithful member of South Fork First United Methodist Church, where he attended the men’s Bible class and sang in the men’s choir. He was a member of South Fork Lions Club, enjoyed being active in the community, loved fishing and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where the South Fork Lions Club will hold a service at 3 p.m. Sunday. Viewing also will be held from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Terry Trudgen, officiating. Interment, South Fork Cemetery.
