Bennettsville - Master Cameron “Ernie” Lane Ard, age 4, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Cameron was born in Darlington County, SC, on July 11, 2010, a son of Garret Wayne Ard and Jessica Lane Dillard Ard. He attended Bristow Free Will Baptist Church and was enrolled in the Pre-Kindergarten Program at Bennettsville Primary School and was in Mrs. Grainger’s and Mrs. Branch’s class. He loved playing outside, riding his bike, working in the yard with his dad, playing with his tablet and taking annual camping trips with his PawPa and MawMa. He was infatuated with silk tags and with Santa Claus. Cameron will be remembered for his contagious smile and his ability to make others laugh.

He is survived by his parents, Garrett Wayne Ard and Jessica Lane Dillard Ard both of Bennettsville; brothers, Dalton Wayne Ard and Bryson Allen Jacobs of the home; paternal grandmother, Jenny Beaton Ard of Bennettsville; maternal grandparents, Darby Dillard Lane “PawPa” and wife Betty “MawMa" of Mint Hill, NC, and Nancy Jaworski of Columbia, SC; paternal great-grandparents, Rev. LeVerne and Peggy Ard of Bennettsville and Jerry and JoAnne Britt of Bennettsville; maternal great-grandmother, Peg Blair of Charlotte, NC; step-sisters, Montana Baker and Teresa Hariston both of Mint Hill, NC; aunts, Heather Ard of Minnetonka, MN, Gabrielle Aldridge (Seth) of Concord, NC and Robin Jaworski of Hartsville; an uncle, Julian Jaworski of Hartsville; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Homegoing services will be held 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Bristow Free Will Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-4 P.M. on Saturday in the church sanctuary.

Cameron was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Darren Wayne Ard and by his maternal great-grandfather, Donald Dillard and an aunt, Sharon Ard McQuage.
