Shirley A. Zbylicki, age 79, of Hastings, died peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Regina Medical Center following a recent illness.

Shirley Ann, the daughter of Vincent and Frances (Sulla) Glomski, was born on April 13, 1935 in Winona. She attended Cotter High School in Winona and graduated with the first co-ed class in 1953. On February 20, 1960, she was united in marriage to Stanley W. Zbylicki in Winona. They were blessed with three children before his sudden death on August 9, 1969. Shirley was a longtime employee at Mike Hovgaard’s Edward Jones office in Hastings, and later retired after 25 years in 2000 and was an active Board member of Dakota County HRA for many years. Shirley loved gardening, feeding and watching the birds, playing 500 and bridge with her many card clubs, and never missed Saturday night Mass at Guardian Angels. She was also well known for her cookies, especially molasses, and her tasty caramels.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband Stanley.

She is survived by her children, Steve (Lisa) Zbylicki and children, Nathan and Brianne of West Des Moines, IA, Bob (Hope) and children, Matthew and Adam of Woodbury, and Jane (Shane) Billmeyer of Cottage Grove; her sister, Mary Paszkiewicz of Winona; her sisters-in-law, Mary June Zbylicki of Maple Grove and Irene Zbylicki of Naperville, IL; brother-in-law, John Sullivan of Winona; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., Hastings. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Private family interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Winona.
