Services for Forris Edgar Freeze Jr., 78, will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at David Funeral Home Swan Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth "Keno" Patton officiating. Interment will be in Broussard Cemetery at Bayou Petit Anse.

Visitation will be today from 3-9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Smackover, Ark., and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Freeze died at 6:50 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, at his residence.

Mr. Freeze was a postal employee with the U.S. Post Office for 20 years and was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II.

He is survived by his daughter, Roxanna Freeze of New Iberia; four brothers, A.Z. Freeze of New Iberia, Billy Freeze of Houma, Bobby Freeze of Baton Rouge, and Richard Freeze of Fort Worth, Texas; four sisters, Melva Johnson of Mena, Ark., Martha Orey of San Dimas, Calif., Pete Polin of Lufkin, Texas, and Gladys Stoltz of New Iberia; two grandsons, Jason Freeze and Jody Louviere, both of New Iberia; two granddaughters, Carrie Cavalier of Dallas, Texas, and Patrice Cavalier of Baton Rouge; his stepdaughter, Roxy Jo Chadwick of Houston; and his former wife, Joyce Landry of New Iberia.

Mr. Freeze was preceded in death by his parents, Forris Edgar Freeze Sr. and Pinky Mae Bradley Freeze; and his brother, Glenn Freeze.

Pallbearers will be Mike Blanchard, Jason Freeze, Haynes Gordy, Jody Louviere, and Clint and Duke Stoltz.
