On April 13, 2015, Ruth Deloris Gruver passed away while in the care of Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis, Oregon. She was 81 years old.
Dee (as she was known to family and friends) was born in the Hominy Township of Osage County, Oklahoma on August 21, 1933 at 8:00 pm and was the third child of Thomas V. and Eura Agee.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas V and Eura Agee, her brother Eugene (Gene) Agee and her sister Betty Comer.
Dee is survived by her husband of twenty-five years Galen G. Gruver, brother Bob and Linda Agee of Welllsburg West Virginia, her children Jaynie and Darrell Wright of Klamath Falls OR, Ben and Kelly Ramsey of Grants Pass, OR, Cristi & Steve Cordi of Redding California, Brad and Vicki Gruver of Rowland Heights, CA, Brenda and Joe Neely of Harrisburg, OR, Charles (Wade) and Olympia Gruver of Harrisburg OR, Mark Gruver (Sr.) of Minden NV and Chris and Mike Reynolds of Placerville, CA. In addition, she is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
A 1952 graduate of Avenal High School, she married Lilburn Ramsey of Coalinga and together they raised their three children. They divorced in 1973. In 1989 she married Galen Gruver and acquired five more young adults that loved her. For many years, Dee worked alongside Dr. Walker Armstrong as his dental assistant until her retirement in 1991.
She was active in the Eagles Auxiliary, holding many offices associated with the Aerie. Who can forget her rendition of Dolly Parton at one of their events?
Dee loved her crafts; her award winning efforts at crocheting were shared with many family members and friends. In addition, her collection of Barbie dolls and handmade clothing were admired by all.
Gruv and Dee moved to Sweet Home Oregon in 2005 where she continued to crochet for her home and her friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 16th at the Eagles Hall at 156 W. Durian Ave., Coalinga CA at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the American Diabetes Foundation, Coalinga 1872 Fraternal Order of Eagles or any other charity of your choice.
