Oldest son of James Manning and Jane Palmatier of Catskill, Isaac was baptized on Dec 12 1824 at the Catskill Reformed Church, along with younger siblings Mary Ann, Joshua, Laurence and Sarah. By 1850 Isaac had moved to NYC where he worked as a cartman. (The Manning family believed wrongly that they were related through Isaac's grandmother Helena Bro(u)wer to Anneke Jans and therefore had a claim to Trinity Church land so various members of the family spent time in NYC pursuing this claim). In 1857 another brother, John Manning, recorded visiting Isaac on 36th St. in NYC. With wife Harriet Crasper Isaac had these children:

Helen Emeline (1836-1900) m Elihu? Porter
Sarah Frances (1838-1908) m Andrew Webster
Royal (1842-43)
Clarence (1840-1908) m Anna Thorn
Harriet Amelia (1843-1926) m Edward Curley
John Laurence (1848-1885)
Timothy (1848-1916) m Sarah Lancaster
Mary Eliza (1852-1898) m Albert Clow
Cornelia J. (1851-1887)
Charlotte (1853-1860)
Catherine (1858-1860)
Isaac Jr. (1857-1892)

The year Issac died is apparently unreadable on this gravestone. Isaac's brother John Manning, who was hauling freight between NYC and Catskill 1857-1865, recorded in his diary that "brother Isaac" died June 29 1863.
