Dolores "Dolly" Lorena Meckes Lentz, 83 of Walnutport passed away into the arms of her Loving Savior surrounded by her family on June 2, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of Larry L. Lentz; they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Born July 2, 1932 in West Bowmanstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis Charles and Lorena Pearl (Bowman) Meckes.
Dolly was a graduate of the Slatington HS Class of 1951, and was then employed for Western Electric. She enjoyed sewing, baking, ceramics, candle making, crocheting but her greatest joy was her involvement with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dolly was a member of Gospel Chapel, Northampton. She taught Sunday school at St. Paul's Union Church Indianland, and served as prayer coordinator for Salem United Methodist Church in Danielsville.
Survivors: Husband, Children; Randy Lentz and wife Kaye, Gary Lentz and wife Jackie, Lori Comfort and fiancé Lee Ronald. Grandchildren; Stephanie Wetzel, John Lentz, Matthew Lentz, Ryan Micolochick, Micah Comfort, Zachary Lentz, Katherine Comfort, Emmeline Comfort. 6 Great Grandchildren. Siblings; Donna Levan (Meckes) Muth & Bonnie Gail (Meckes) Schwartz. Nieces & Nephews.
Services: 11am Tuesday June 7, 2016 Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington. Calling hours 6-8pm Monday June 6, and 10-11am Tuesday. Interment to follow at Indianland Cemetery.
