John W. Parks Dies Thursday
John Wesley Parks, 73, died at his home at 1013 South Main Street, at 2 am Thursday, April 25.
Mr Parks was born September 25, 1883, the son of Martin and Mary Brown Parks. He was born in Wayne County, and had spent his entire life on a farm, with the exception of the past ten years spent in Centerville. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
On March 23, 1905, he was married to Itla Mosher, who preceded him in death in October, 1945. He later married Jennie Carson, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Merne Forsyth of Sumner, Ia.; Wilma Wills and Floyd Parks of Seymour; one stepson, Dr Robert Carson of Gallitollis, Ohio; and one brother, Everett Parks, of Corydon. He was preceded in death by an infant son and his parents.
The body is at the Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 pm from First Baptist Church with Reverend James Thomas officiating. He will be assisted by Reverend Sidney Sloan.
Burial will be in Cambria cemetery.
