Shirley Dixon Williams peacefully left this world for eternal life in Heaven with her husband on Nov. 25, 2005. She passed away in Fountain Inn at the home of her daughter.

She was born on Nov. 8, 1919, in Cleveland County, N.C., the daughter of the late Jacob Linzie and Martha Wright Dixon. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church. She was a retired registered school nurse teacher in Schenectady, N.Y., and was a volunteer at Hillcrest Hospital for the late 28 years.

Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth Williams McConaghy of Fountain Inn; her son, Craig Kirwan Williams of Schenectady, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Aaron and Marcus McConaghy, Angie Lawry, Catherine O'Hanlon and Tracy Davis; and 13 great-grandchildren, Danielle, Trent, Sean, Marcus, and Price McConaghy, Kathrina, Paul, Grace, Esther, Peter, Anastasia Lawry, Meghan O'Hanlon and Morgan Davis.

She was predeceased by her sister, Alma Kale; and two brothers, Raymon and Arson Dixon.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. at the Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church in Simpsonville. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Carl Robbins and the Rev. Richard Thomas.

A private graveside service will be held Monday at Graceland East Memorial Park, with the Rev. Carl Robbins officiating.
