John J. Biroscak, 79, of Erie, died Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Hamot Medical Center. He was born December 3, 1926 in Arcadia, Pa., the son of the late Vincent and Mary Govlus Biroscak. John served in the US Army as an MP in the Philippines during WW II. He worked many years as a cabinetmaker at Schutte Woodworking, and later retired in 1990 after 24 years at American Sterilizer Co. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the American Legion. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Irene; a grandson, Jeffrey Biroscak, of Calif.; and a sister, Ann Mackanos, of Erie. John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Genevieve Androsky Biroscak; two daughters, Barbara Biroscak and Susan Palermo, and her husband, Richard; three sons, John Biroscak and his wife, Pamela, and Bernard Biroscak and his wife, Cheryl, all of Erie, and William Biroscak and his wife, Deborah, of Sacramento, Calif. He is the grandfather of Nicole and Elizabeth Palermo, and Leah and Rachel Biroscak. John is the brother to William, Cecila, Elizabeth, Terry, Mary, Margaret, George, Joseph, Ronald, Vincent, Cathy, and Joanne; along with many nieces and nephews.
