Joyce Imogene Powell was born April 28, 1925 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to G.C. Brookover and Laura (Chrane) Brookover. She graduated from Davenport High School. July 3, 1946 she married Jess H. Powell. Mrs. Powell spent much of her life as a housewife and homemaker and enjoyed gardening and painting. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a daughter: Linda Joyce Powell She is survived by one son, Jess Powell and wife Susan of Sapulpa; one daughter, Janice Long and husband Ron of Shawnee; grandchildren, Jeannie Ann Smith, Jess Alan Powell and wife Sherrie, Victoria Peevyhouse and husband Kevin, Katherine Dockrey, Jessica Lynn Dockrey, Jewel Lea Gammill and husband Andrew; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other family and friends.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Wayne Gemmill officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
