For many years he operated the Burkittsville hotel and tavern. He was active in affairs of the town and changing political aspects of the county.
He was a son of the Charles T. Ahalt and Alberta M. Huffer Ahalt.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rose A Montgomery Ahalt; a sister Mrs. Harry Shaffer, Burkittsville; brothers, Ralph Ahalt, Petersville; Harry R. Ahalt, Dickerson.
Services Wednesday at 2 pm at C. H. Feete and Bro. Funeral Home, Brunswick, the Rev. M. L. Zirkle, officiating. Interment in Middletown Lutheran Cemetery.
