He served his country in the U.S. Army and later retired from American Enka. He was an avid softball player and also served on Central City Council and was the Police Commissioner of Central, as well. He was a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Survived by a daughter and son-in-law; a son and daughter-in-law; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his wife of 25 years.
Predeceased by 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Funeral services: Tuesday, April 14, 2015, Liberty Mortuary Chapel.
